Renewed Hämeenaho

We at Hämeenaho recognised a need for renewal and started making big changes in the summer of 2023. We changed our CEO, hired more personnel, established a managerial team, started working on our brand and even began working on our strategies near the end of autumn of 2023.

We at Hämeenaho recognised a need for renewal and started making big changes in the summer of 2023. We changed our CEO, hired more personnel, established a managerial team, started working on our brand and even began working on our strategies near the end of autumn of 2023. Still, the most fundamental component of a family business was not forgotten among the tightly scheduled renewal.

“I started as the official CEO in autumn of 2023. I had conversations with our personnel and went to our sites to introduce myself. It became clear that people had been waiting for this change and the expectations were high.”, says Pauli Sarpola, CEO of Hämeenaho.

Everything is based on family business values

The owning brothers of Hämeenaho wanted to update operations, while still basing all operations on family business values. Hämeenaho employs approximately 150 persons and has about 80 additional subcontractors.

“Big points for us were caring about our personnel and operating in an honest way. We also have to remember, how many households rely on our employment.” says Antti Pasanen, reminding us on the basic issues and responsibilities we still have, even while updating the company.

“Time, technologies, and standards continue to evolve, and we want to be a part of the development.” says Antti while explaining the ambitions of the company.

Hämeenaho wants to maintain a continuation of long employments and company history in the future.

Positive feedback encourages continuous development

By spring of 2024, the renewal of Hämeenaho has progressed and made concrete developments in a visible way. The company still needs to stay on top their game and listen to different sides to see how the updates have been received.

“By going to different sites, we have received positive messages on the changes, and people have also responded positively on having our directors come to chat with people and see what actually happens on our sites.” says Pauli Sarpola, CEO of Hämeenaho.

At the same time, Pauli notes that this is not just about getting familiar during the renewal period, as directors are periodically scheduling days to visit sites.
Clients and other affiliates have also voiced their opinions on the new Hämeenaho.

“I have received feedback straight from our clients and partners. It has been great to have them tell us how positive the reception to our changes has been.”, says a clearly pleased Pauli.

In line with their family business values, Hämeenaho wants to talk about their development work to others, too.
